Timing chains (fitted to many TSI, TDI and BMW N-series engines) are replaced when cold-start knocking or camshaft phase errors appear. Every job uses camshaft locking tools and dial gauge phase verification.
We check the braking system at every visit. We replace pads (Bosch, Brembo, TRW), discs, brake fluid (every 2 years or when the moisture tester shows contamination) and recondition callipers. After replacement every car gets a test drive — we verify no vibration and even braking.
Wishbones, bushes, shock absorbers, springs, tie-rods, track rod ends — we diagnose on the lift at every service. After replacing suspension parts, wheel alignment is mandatory. Kraków roads destroy suspension faster than normal use — do not wait for knocking and uneven tyre wear.
Clutch kits (LuK, Sachs) are replaced as a complete set: friction disc, pressure plate and release bearing — never individual parts. We inspect the dual-mass flywheel (DMF) at the same time. Manual gearbox oil is changed every 60,000–80,000 km. DSG/TCT automatics are diagnosed and serviced with VCDS (VAG) or multi-brand scanners.
We diagnose the cooling system (water pump, thermostat, radiator, hoses) for leaks and thermostat efficiency. An engine that has overheated even once may have a blown head gasket — we test with combustion gas detection in coolant. Coolant is changed every 2–3 years.

Engine oil is changed every 10,000–15,000 km or once a year — depending on manufacturer recommendations and oil type (mineral, semi-synthetic, fully synthetic). At every oil change we check all fluid levels and filter condition.
Timing belt replacement (including water pump) costs 900–1300 PLN at an independent workshop and 1200–1600 PLN at a main dealer. Price depends on the model and parts availability. We always replace the water pump at the same time — it is the same labour, and a water pump failure after belt replacement means stripping the engine again.
Front brake pads are changed every 30,000–50,000 km, rear pads less often. Discs are usually replaced at the second pad change — unless thickness drops below the minimum or edge corrosion appears. We check pad thickness at every visit.
Wheel alignment is needed after: hitting a kerb or deep pothole, replacing suspension components (wishbones, tie-rods, shock absorbers), buying a used vehicle, and preventively every 2 years. Poor alignment destroys tyres and worsens road-holding.
