Tyre fitting Kraków — tyre service and tyre change

Tyre fitting and balancing, TPMS programming, alloy wheel straightening, tyre storage — no queue with online booking

A tyre change in Kraków before the season means queues stretching a week — unless you book in advance. SMotors in Prądnik Czerwony and Nowa Huta accepts appointments at a specific time: fitting a full set of 4 wheels with balancing takes around 30–45 minutes. We fit summer, winter and all-season tyres on steel and alloy wheels from 12" to 22". Run-flat tyres are handled on a dedicated tyre-lever-free machine. We programme TPMS sensors in 433 MHz and 315 MHz standards — a TPMS warning light after a wheel change usually just means reprogramming, not a sensor fault. We straighten alloy wheels after kerb impacts. We also offer tyre storage between seasons. We serve customers from Kraków, Wieliczka, Skawina and the surrounding area.

Tyre and wheel problems that Kraków drivers bring to us

Tyre fitting and balancing — all sizes and types

Full 4-tyre fitting and balancing on a Hunter balancer. We service steel and alloy wheels from 12" to 22", summer, winter, all-season and run-flat tyres. After fitting we check valve condition and tyre pressures. Do not wait for the peak season — in October and March queues stretch to 2–3 weeks.

TPMS sensor programming and replacement

TPMS warning light on after a wheel change? That is normal — pressure sensors need to be reprogrammed and relearned by the vehicle. We use a professional diagnostic kit covering both frequencies: 433 MHz (EU) and 315 MHz (USA/Asia). We also supply and fit new TPMS sensors — battery life is 5–7 years.

Alloy and steel wheel straightening

After hitting a kerb an alloy wheel can buckle without cracking — result: steering vibration and uneven tyre wear. We straighten alloy wheels (120–170 PLN per wheel) and steel wheels (40–70 PLN). We assess each wheel before repair — if straightening cannot guarantee safety, we say so clearly.

Tyre storage — between seasons

We store your tyres between seasons protected from UV, moisture and temperature changes. Without rims: from 90 PLN per season. On rims: from 140 PLN. On collection we check tyre condition and inflate to the correct pressure.

How tyre fitting works at SMotors

  1. 1.

Book a time slot — no queue

Book online or by phone for a specific time. In peak season (Oct–Nov and Mar–Apr) we accept with a reservation — no hours of waiting.

  2. 2.

    Tyre and wheel condition check

We check tyre condition (tread, sidewalls, age), wheels and valves. We advise whether the tyres are still safe to use.

  3. 3.

    Fitting and balancing

We mount tyres on a tyre-lever-free machine (run-flat and premium alloys). We balance every wheel on a Hunter balancer.

  4. 4.

    TPMS check and pressure correction

We scan TPMS sensors and reprogramme if needed. We check and correct tyre pressure on all four wheels.

  5. 5.

    Collection and optional tyre storage

We return the car with a fitting record. The removed tyres go with you or into storage.

Frequently asked questions about tyre fitting and service

How much does tyre fitting cost in Kraków?

Fitting a full set of 4 tyres on alloy wheels up to 17" with balancing costs 200–230 PLN. Steel wheels up to 16": 160–190 PLN. 18" alloys: 220–250 PLN, 19–20": 280–350 PLN. Balancing and valve check are included.

When should I change to winter tyres and is it compulsory?

Winter tyres should be fitted when temperatures regularly drop below 7°C — typically late October or early November. There is no legal requirement in Poland, but comprehensive insurance (AC) may refuse a payout for an accident on summer tyres in winter. Do not wait until mid-November — in peak season queues can stretch to 2–3 weeks.

Do TPMS sensors need to be replaced at every seasonal change?

No, but the sensors need to be reprogrammed and relearned by the vehicle (adaptation). Sensors stay with the wheels — at each seasonal change we scan them and reprogramme if needed. Full programming of 4 sensors: 98–128 PLN.

Can a damaged alloy wheel be repaired?

Yes — after hitting a kerb or pothole an alloy wheel can deform without visibly cracking. Straightening costs 120–170 PLN and takes about 30 minutes. Many drivers do not know that a deformed alloy is straightened rather than replaced.

Can run-flat tyres be repaired?

Run-flat tyres have a reinforced sidewall that supports the vehicle weight after a puncture. Sidewall repair is generally excluded by manufacturers (Michelin, Continental). Fitting and removal of run-flats requires a tyre-lever-free mounting machine — we have the appropriate equipment.

How much does tyre storage (tyre hotel) cost in Kraków?

Storage season is 6 months. Tyres without rims: 90–120 PLN per season. Tyres on rims: 140–199 PLN. We store them protected from UV and temperature changes, stacked vertically.
